Madu River Boat Safari

The Maadu River is a paradise of nature. This river is found on your way to Galle in the southern province. A beautiful river mixed with sea water. The both banks of the river covered with mangroves and Species of various plants. you can see beautiful   small islands speeded over the area. While doing this safari you can visit a temple also with a tall Buddha statue in standing posture in an Island named “koth Duwa” A little break at the temple.  The peeling of cinnamon also can be seen in one of the Island.


Very rarely you will find crocodiles but a large number of water monitors and beautiful birds are seen beautiful in these Islands. You will see how to true the prawn using the traditional ways of trapping. from the main Colombo Galle road the boat riders will take you through the net groves of mangroves in which you can see water monitors king fisher’s, wood peckers, megalaima rubricapilla ( crimson frontea  Barbex ) Black – hooded oriole and large number of birds in flocks. On your way you also will see a fish breeding center in the middle of the river
